Why oranges

Small fruit, big reasons.

The orange is easy to take for granted. Up close, it is one of the most useful things a tree can give us.

A full day of C

One orange covers your daily vitamin C, and brings fiber, folate, and potassium along for the ride.

Sweet, never boring

From juicy Navels to tart Valencias, there is an orange for every mood and every season.

Whole fruit, zero waste

Zest, peel, pith, and juice all earn their keep. Nothing from the tree goes to waste.

Grown slow

Sun-ripened on the branch, never rushed, and picked by hand at peak sugar.

Know your orange

Four oranges, four moods.

Not all oranges are the same. Each variety we grow has its own season, its own sweetness, and its own place in the kitchen.

  1. 01

    Navel

    The classic

Seedless, sweet, and easy to peel. The everyday eating orange, best from winter into spring.

  2. 02

    Valencia

    The juicer

Thin-skinned and tart, the go-to for fresh-squeezed juice. Ripens late in the season.

  3. 03

    Blood

    The showstopper

Crimson flesh with a berry-like flavor. A striking surprise in salads and desserts.

  4. 04

    Cara Cara

    The favorite

Pink-fleshed, honey-sweet, and low in acid. A gentle orange for snacking.

The grove

A grove that grows slow.

Golden Grove sits in the warm Central Valley, where the soil is deep and the sun is generous. We have grown heirloom oranges here for three generations, and we still treat every tree like it has all the time in the world.

  • Warm, slow sunshine

Long warm days and cool nights build the sugars that make the fruit sweet.

  • Watered with care

We irrigate by need, not by habit, and grow cover crops between the rows.

  • Picked by hand

Every orange is clipped and sorted by hand at peak ripeness, never rushed.
